Jewellery adds that extra Flare - Shashwata Roy

Success to her is hard work with a sense of purpose in life. She believes in being powerful with big dreams than big facts. And she believes in Change, for the better.

Meet Shashwata, one of the finalist for Mrs India Earth 2017 pageant. Let's cheer her to win the title for the change she wishes to bring for the noble cause towards underprivileged. StyleAura™ catches up with her and this is what she had to say about the Aura of her Style!

StyleAura - Shashwata Roy  StyleAura - Shashwata Roy

I was born in a family where birth of every girl child is considered a matter of pride and honour. I pursued my MBA in HR and Marketing and presently working for an MNC in Bangalore. I have always had that keen interest in the field of art and thereby live my passion as a freelance actor, model and a singer.

In my profession, I interact with people from all walks of life. I prefer wearing crop T-shirt and skirt on casual occasions. On special occasions, I prefer wearing typical classic traditional Saree with a pinch of serene Indian culture in it to showcase the authentic Essence of Indian beauty through my   dressing. It gives that feel-good factor.

Jewellery plays a significant role in anything I wear. Jewellery always adds that extra flare to one's dressing and enhances the elegance in you giving an outstanding feel to your entire. In my opinion style is something which we define for ourselves and it's a true depiction of the real person in us.

StyleAura™ caught up with Shreya at her cosy abode over Nannari Sherbet to talk about her Aura of Style…

My work takes me to multiple places and involves travel. I meet people across the board from CXO's and peers and my team, I am part of conferences that I attend or speak at or anchor, I meet my agencies and partners, I also meet my NGO partners and volunteers on a regular basis.

Since my work involves meeting a lot of people and being a part of events, I prefer to dress in a sari for formal gatherings. it's a versatile garment and takes you through the day and evening with just the right amount of style and elegance. Otherwise I more or less wear everything from dresses to skirts to trousers. I love the desiboho look which is a fusion of Indian and western styles.

Jewellery is a very important part of my styling routine. Jewellery accentuates style if it is with a sari or a skirt or whatever the attire it is that you chose to wear. I love boho jewellery and I love mixing up colours and styles. It helps curate multiple looks and also adds an element of oomph! You can tone up or tone down a look with just the right kind of Jewellery.

Breaking Rules : Be my Valentine!

Come Valentine’s day... and a stream of suggestions on how to express your love to your beloved. Some get it all... roses, gifts, and a romantic date. Yet, a few wait and sulk in disappointment. Do you wait and watch to get lucky yourself this season? Or shall we break the rule and serve ourselves to something special this Valentine’s day?

"Be my Valentine" is what women whisper to themselves this season. Love yourself more, treat yourself, and pamper the beauty in you like no one else.

StyleAura™ women break the rule of being loved this valentine’s day by loving themselves in endless ways to celebrate love.

We spent a day with one such woman, Kajal, who as a working woman juggles between the roles she has chosen, in work and personal life. A loving wife, a caring mother of two girls, a joy to be with - for her family and friends, with a demanding yet successful career, Kajal never forgets what she owes to herself!

"My journey has evolved from striving to thriving" says Kajal. She shares her strengths with others to bring more joy and positivity in her life.

As we hear from Kajal;

"The most wonderful gift I have ever got is the gift of myself. I don’t need my partner… my spouse to make me feel special. Yes, he does so, in more than many ways, but am I incomplete without that? Well, NO."

Here we capture the woman and her way of breaking rules this Valentine’s Day to love herself in many ways.

Be you... Do you... For you…

StyleAura - Kajal - Be You, Do You, For You

In many ways, I prefer my own company, it gives me time to think.

Me time…

StyleAura - Kajal - Me Time

I am not looking for someone who has everything, I have everything I can make myself happy with.

Make Time for Yourself…

StyleAura - Kajal - Make Time for Yourself

Make yourself a priority once in a while. It's not selfish... it's a necessity.

Toast to YOURSELF!

StyleAura - Kajal - Toast to Yourself

Don't just be good to others, be good to yourself too.

Take Control…

StyleAura - Kajal - Take Control

It's your journey, you take charge and steer the wheel of your ride.

I don’t hide from myself, I love my company and I believe that I have the ability to change for the better by loving and taking care of myself.

I once read, ‘Worry about loving yourself, instead of loving the idea of other people loving you.’

And I am in love with my perfectly imperfect self!

Breaking Rules : Perfect Imperfections!

Perfection is an exhaustive, infinite paradox. Attempting perfection doesn’t promisingly ensure happiness rather, the opposite for always wishing for more.

In the world of beauty and fashion, perfection lies in the imperfect details. Be it rules of wearing a particular piece, going bold with accessories or experimental make-up. Accepting what’s natural to us is what is perfect, not striving for a desired yet pretentious standard of style and beauty.

We’ve been bound by the rules of styling one garment with matching coloured accessories, shoes and even bags. Everything, from the texture to cut of the accessory, the symmetry and colour has so far been age-old. Traditional beauty was seen in smooth finished textures of a Diamond or Gold jewellery, with symmetrical beads and placement. But, fortunately over the last few years, women and men have shown a rebellious face to these rules and opted for something experimental infusing personal styles along the way. Our style resort this New Year is adorning a piece of handcrafted necklace that revolves around imperfect natural stones.

When we say imperfect, we mean in terms of textures, colours, cuts and placement of these stones and beads in an unconventional way to bring out the charm of what was considered flawed. The evolution of fashion and beauty has seen various experimental styles off late, and we’re game for a trend that is more individualistic than ever.

If we think about relationships, only when we truly and willingly accept one’s individual style, aura, humour, expression and their flaws, can we create a harmonious, everlasting relationship, that can be cherished for the years to come. Be it lovers, friends or family, accepting person’s imperfections and eliminating judgement is what brings love between any two or more people.

Likewise, inculcating a crudely cut Druzy with asymmetrical Baruks and having the statement piece accentuate your outfit on the New Year evening is a way of showcasing that you’re not bound by the rules and age-old styling methods. You’re challenging for a more refined, tasteful life.

StyleAura - Bonding over Imperfections

StyleAura shares the story of these friends who bonded over each other’s imperfections rather gracefully, and now stand strong embracing the nature, the character of a human and a piece of stunning unconventional accessory, beautifully. They’ve guided each other, stood through the rough times, have genuinely accepted each other for who they are without a single thought on their flaws and now stand tall with their years of friendship. Celebrating the New Year with their special bond and StyleAura’s gorgeous imperfect neck pieces.

Have a look at them portraying faults in style:

StyleAura - Copper druzy pendant with druzy bead necklace StyleAura - Druzy with delicate Hasli

Rakhi portraying a bohemian style with her tie-dye, bell sleeve, off-shoulder blouse with a delicate green Druzy pendant, or for an evening cocktail look she beautifully carries the copper Druzy pendant on a sober black dress to add élan.

StyleAura - Purple bhatti stone with grey baruk pearl choker StyleAura - Silver baruk with blue agate and polki necklace

Kavita keeps it minimal with clothing and dares to go bold with accessories. Look at how she paired the purple-pink Bhatti stone choker or the azure blue asymmetrical Baruk pearls on a black dress. Finesse yet adventurous.

StyleAura - Iolite stone choker StyleAura - Mother of Pearl with grey baruk pearl necklace

Gurmeet accentuates her off-shoulder frill top with an Iolite stone choker so gorgeously, we wouldn’t be surprised if you asked one for yourself.

Taking basic all the way up, Gunngun beautifully wraps the Mother of Pearls choker with her black ensemble to illuminate elegance and panache.

StyleAura - Perfect Imperfections

Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we're all in this together.
